The aspiration of the Professional Recruiter is to locate, recruit and present the best and brightest Candidates for our Client Company to consider for employment so that after they have come to work for you, they will meet and exceed the performance standards of the position.

Since the only way we will retain your business is for the Candidates that you hire through our recruiting process directly, consistently and positively impact the performance of your business – then it is the QUALITY of the RECRUITING PROCESS – that is your investment.

You would not make an investment of this nature unless you are reasonably certain of receiving an appreciable return. Since employees represent an organization’s primary resource of competitive advantage in the marketplace, it is in our mutual best interest that we execute an interactive process that consistently delivers employees who positively impact the performance of your organization.

 

Cost of Retained and Contingency Searches

The Cost of the Retained Search is 33% of the candidate’s expected total first year cash compensation (base and bonus).

Payment: A Retained Search follows a three-payment plan; one-third of the anticipated placement fee is due at commencement of the search, one-third after 30 days, and the balance when the right candidate has been selected.

There is no cost to the Employer in a Contingency Search unless we find the right Candidate for you. The cost of a successful Contingency Search is based on a percentage of the Employee’s first year’s base salary, excluding bonuses or commissions.

One Time Search        30%
Multiple Searches        27%
Annual Agreement      25%

Payment is due on the first day of employment and must be received within 10 business days for our Guarantee to be administered.

Guarantee

We guarantee that you get the person that you thought you were getting; in other words, we want to ensure that the person has the education, experience and the technical skills to do the job that you hired them to do. In the unlikely event that they don’t, we will replace that person at no additional cost to you. Typically, the Manager will know within the first month if the person can do the job or cannot do the job. If they can’t do the job we will replace them.

Specifically, if the Candidate resigns or is terminated for any reason before the 30th calendar day after employment begins, we will replace the Candidate provided that you notify us in writing of all facts relating to the termination of the relationship within five business days after termination.  This guarantee is not applicable if the employee is terminated because the position is eliminated or because you have insufficient work for the Candidate.

Why isn’t your guarantee longer?

We want to be accountable for the aspects of the hiring process where we have direct control. Further, the only way we will retain your business is for the Candidates that you hire through our recruiting process directly, consistently and positively impact the performance of your business. This is why it is so important that we work together to develop and implement a recruiting process that will help insure that you make the right decision in the selection of the person that you hire.

After we present the top Candidates for your consideration, we begin to transfer the control of the process to you. At the end of the process you are in control. You make the final decision on who you will hire and you control the post-hire environment; you supervise the employee, their schedule, work load, responsibilities and work environment. We have no way to assign, inspect, manage or influence the new employee’s daily work. In reality, most job failures are not the result of an inability to do the job but are a result of other factors within the work environment. Put simply, it is impossible for us to guarantee the decisions and actions of others.

In summary, we will be accountable for the aspects of the hiring process where we have direct control, we will be accountable for our shared responsibilities during the process but we can’t guarantee the aspects of the process where we have no control. However, we feel that we do have additional responsibility beyond the formal guarantee…

Beyond the Written Guarantee

To reiterate, we want to be accountable for the aspects of the hiring process where we have direct control and the only way we will retain your business is for the Candidates that you hire through our recruiting process directly, consistently and positively impact the performance of your business.

Therefore, we adhere to what Terry Petra (CPC, CIPC) calls the Predict, Prevent, or Cause approach to our guarantee. Paraphrasing from Mr. Petra…

If, in the unlikely event an employee we place with your organization leaves or is terminated for cause in the first few months of employment, let’s agree to handle the situation in this manner:

First, let’s ask ourselves (You and us), was there anything we could have done to predict in advance this particular outcome?"

Next, if we (You and us) could have predicted this outcome, is there anything we could have done to prevent it?

Last, if we (You and us) could not predict it, or prevent it, was there anything we did or failed to do that caused this outcome, sins of omission or commission?

With this as the basis of our guarantee, if an employee we place is terminated for cause or leaves prematurely, we will review with you the specific circumstances. If it is agreed between us that we (the Professional Recruiter) should have been able to predict, prevent, or if there was something we did or failed to do that caused this outcome, then we will make it right. We will replace the employee. This is a guarantee that focuses on our capability and willingness to complete a successful recruiting and selection process. In other words, we will own our problems. If we make a mistake, we own the mistake and we will make it right.
